The Bayne Foundation is a proud sponsor of Adaptive Sports Medicine Day - a multidisciplinary educational program designed to advance the care of athletes with physical disabilities through expert-led lectures, keynotes, and interactive sessions. Topics span wheelchair biomechanics across the lifespan, screening and rehabilitation of wheelchair athletes, and prosthetic decision-making in pediatric and adult populations. The program also features two keynotes on athlete development and inclusive sport pathways, an interactive workshop on accessing adaptive equipment funding, and a multidisciplinary panel highlighting real-world perspectives on access and resources. This course equips healthcare professionals with practical strategies to support safe participation, optimize performance, and expand access to adaptive sports. The day continues with community participation in our afternoon educational sessions as well as an engagement fair for exploring and networking with adaptive sports organizations throughout our region.
